Field Day 2016
First of all, THANKS to those who operated:
| Dave, VE3RBA | Donata, SP5HNK | Gord, VE3EOS | Peter, VA3PTB | Rick, VE3ZUP | Jim, VE3JLC | Linda, VE3LWH | Jordan, VA3PRX | Zach, VA3ZTS | Robert, VA3XTZ | Harrison
and..., then THANKS to all those who came out to help, or to provide support and comraderie. Many hands make light work, and many friends make for enjoyable times:
| Marg, VE3RE | Don, VE3ESE | Patrick, VE3PAF | Paul, VE3PDC | Dave, VE3CSB | John and Linda | Gord, VE3RGG | Neil | Jane, VA3JSC
and..., further THANKS to anyone whose name was missed. We're glad you were there, and apologize sincerely for having a short memory.
"Give me books, fruit, French wine, fine weather, a little music ..." (John Keats). Quite interesting, and having these could make for a controversial Field Day!
Maybe for us it should be: good propagation, coffee, plenty of snacks, fine weather and good company..., all of which we had in abundance this year !
With the exception of the "extra" VHF station which despite good propagation conditions came up dry this year, all other operators logged many contacts. Special mention should be made for the "guys" from the UW club who represented both us and their club well on 40m SSB. Also, thanks to SP5HNK, also represented us well on 20m CW.
Satellite was also once again disappointing. It was difficult trying to compete using a 5W handi against more powerful stations to snag that FM DX: plenty of stations heard but none responded. Maybe next year.

We hope to see more members and non-members out for Field Day 2017.
