Message from your Program Chairman

During the past three years, we took on the challenge in the club by assuming the position of program chairperson. In this position, I felt that there was a need to maintain presentations that offered a variety of interesting topics to both young and old. To explore newer technical avenues, while at the same time, preserving traditional ways, to seek innovative speakers and demonstrations that enhance our knowledge, and challenge our appetite in amateur radio, while enriching our fellowship as members of a club that has become a half a century of history. I sincerely hope that I have meet all of your expectations.

At our meetings and elsewhere, we have had videos, demonstrations, lectures, speakers, quizzes, and involvement with Y2K change over, club open houses, school demonstrations, and field day events, tours, to mention a few. None of these events would have had any success without the tremendous co-operation and vast talent within the members. I have continuously received outstanding support from all of the amateurs during these past three years. This in itself has made my job of co-ordination and scheduling much easier. To be associated with such a strong, dedicated, and enthusiastic membership has become a great privilege. My deepest gratitude can only be expressed for such an experience.

There comes a time when the old must step down, and the experience of program chairperson be assumed by a new member, for the coming 2000/2001 season. I will continue as your program chairperson until the summer recess time, at which time, our new program chair person will provide you with the up coming years presentations. My plans are to continue to assist the technical committee and to maintain an accurate inventory of club equipment. During the next few meeting, we will be seeking new leadership in many of the clubs positions, and as members, you will have the opportunity to volunteer your talents, skills, and involvement with this interesting hobby, and the KWARC organization. I encourage you to step forward to volunteer for this position and experience the challenge and rewards as I have enjoyed for the past three years.

Thank You
Ben Sasiela VA3BNY
