Last Meeting (April) Alternative Power by Program Director, Ben VA3BNY

 The April 3 KWARC Meeting was just great. Our guest speaker was Bruce McCreath VE3EAR of Solwind Inc. in Goderich Ont. Bruce and his business partner Allan Ball, discussed alternative power possibilities with KWARC members and giving a detailed explanation through a very informative slide show and commentary. 

Both Bruce and Allan have equipped their homes with solar panels and wind generators producing sufficient on site power to handle there every need and have become entirely non dependant of external hydro requirements. On good days, they even back feed some power into the grid system.

Using inverters, banks of batteries, and regulators, they were able to interconnect their alternative power sources to operate every household need. The members were also provided with construction techniques, and installation methods as well as plenty of information.
