Members that attended the June 5 annual meeting were treated to a superb presentation and mini course on CANWARN and severe weather reporting techniques. Randy Mawson VE3TRW of
Environment Canada was our guest speaker with some 67 members and guests in
attendance.
With the beginning of possible severe weather and unstable conditions, specific reporting techniques and storm identification
patterns were reinforced to amateur operators that can provide weather spotting during the crucial summer months. Along with visual displays and projections, Grid Maps books were also made available to members who had the opportunity to register in the
Environment Canada data base.
Our sincere Thanks are extended to Randy Mawson for taking the time to reinforce our training as CANWARN Spotters in Waterloo
Region
Ben.
