The President's Report

    Welcome to the 2000-2001 season of the KWARC. Another season is under way. As we begin the new season I certainly wish to pay tribute to the past presidents Paul Cassel ve3sy(also editor/web Master), and Dave Johnson ve3mrj,Marg Cassel Bereavement Coordinator ve3blj;secretary John Holman ve3vra; and thank the executive who stayed as well as present the new executive: vice-president Dennis Tabbert va3dlt(also editor); secretary Jonathan Doll ve3dll; treasurer Dave Schwartz ve3dgs; Technical Chairman John Riddell ve3amz; Packet Chairman Larry Gorman ve3lgn; past-president Dave Johnson ve3mrj. Paul Cassel,ve3sy editor/webmaster and twice a past president has again at my request agreed to attend and advise on issues as he can.

Any member can and is warmly requested to attend our executive meetings which will be held at Ratz-Bechtel Family Center on King St W, Kitchener, either 1st or 2nd Tuesday (dates and time to be clarified by Larry Gorman later ve3lgn).If you have an item for the agenda please contact me or any executive member prior to the meeting.

We are experiencing growing pains KSR is under a temporary limitation as Baden tower is being rebuilt (about 1/3 up at this date). The 440M repeater has been turned over to our club. John Riddell ve3amz our Tech Committee Chairman is on top of all the changes and will address the club at the September meeting.

We will be going to our membership requesting replacements for 3 positions this year: Hamfest Cochair as Dave Schwartz ve3dgs wants relief after 3 years of excellent service (he still is our treasurer), but also wants relief from Field Day coordinator. And of course we need a new Program Coordinator as Ben Sasiela va3bny feels he's running dry of ideas after 3 years of presenting excellent programs for us.

This club has excellent talented members. Many of whom are already pitching in ,in many activities already. Please, any who can help in the positions mentioned above, will you see Dave and Ben and volunteer. It is YOUR club. It wont run alone. It needs YOU!!! Let's all pitch in and have another excellent year.
