Topic: George Found from Grandpa's Radio

The Oct 2 2000 meeting of KWARC will feature "The Radio Man" founder and owner of Grandpa's Radio's, Mr. George Found.

As a young boy, George took a correspondence course on radio theory in his hometown of Lindsey Ont., when he was in grade 13, and later in high school, worked in radio and TV repairs. His love of radios was imbedded into his career at a very young age. After moving to the KW area, George continued in this field working in appliance repairs, worked at a local electronic supply business from 1971 to the 80's, spent some time working for Electrohome manufacturing, but decided to start his own business and has never looked back. George concentrates on old radios, pre 1970 era, for both home and auto use, and an occasional will service a vintage TV set.

His unusual interests have been featured in our local paper several times, and he probably has the largest concentrations of tubes in North America, numbering in the many thousands. Amongst George's collections include vintage broadcast microphones, some old gramophones, as well as unusual radio's, antenna's and memorabilia. George will bring to our meeting a small collection of classical radios all in working condition.

Come early, and get a front row seat, to view this fabulous collection of rare and operating radios.
