The President's Report

We had a very successful meeting September 11, 2000. Our speaker Mr Rick Hergott, Manager Central & Western Ontario for Industry Canada is no stranger to the club, and he did his usual excellent job of bringing us up to date on current Industry Canada happenings and plans for a number of areas. Thanks to Ben Sasiela VA3BNY our Program Chair who has a number of excellent further plans ahead for us.

Baden Tower is now up, but there is a lot left to do before we get set up. We will keep you informed of happenings through our Tech Chair, John Riddell VE3AMZ.John and his committee are working on a large number of plans at several sites. Patience.

We have a few new committees: 

• Marg Cassel VE3RE heads up Bereavement.  Upon hearing of the death of a member or partner please contact Marg.  

• Fred Louwe VE3OQB will head Field Day Committee. 

• Harry Eix VE3EIX,& Hugh Baird VE3IYG will be KWARC's reps to co-chair the Central Ontario Hamfest 2001 with Guelph.  

Please contact the chairs related to any issues they can help with.

Technical Chairman John Riddell VE3AMZ called and chaired an excellent Tech Committee meeting at the Angels restaurant on Friday September 22, related to the Baden Hill Antenna Project.

The full Tech Committee plus two members of the Executive were present:

Drawings submitted by John show the antennae positions on the new Baden tower which is now complete. 

John presented each of us with a detailed 10 point agenda that he then lead a very open thorough technical discussion inviting opinions. Committee members responded and volunteered to do all the chores necessary thus the project appears to be well under way.

It was an excellent start to the Baden Hill Project.

John will be summarizing the meeting with a detailed report  which will be posted as soon as it is available.
