Well we're on the way to the holidays!!!
I wish to extend, on behalf of the members, our deepest sympathy to John Schreiter
VE3DOS on the recent death of his father last month.
We also extend our sympathy and wishes for a speedy recovery to our editor and Vice-president Dennis Tabbert from his recent truck accident. As bad as the accident was, we are pleased he was not hurt any worse.
We have the Baden Hill project installed well before we expected, thanks to our superb Technical
Committee: Chair Ben Sasiela, Tedd Doda, Frank Parsons, Terry Taylor.
There is just one slight hitch. The 6 M antenna is acting faulty, and had to be taken down. Ben and Tedd are in the process of repairing it
now. The antenna will then be installed temporarily in Mannheim to check it out for a while. Upon satisfactory operation there it will be brought back to Baden.
I have asked Paul Cassel to clarify and handle the internal issues related to the 70 cm repeater VE3RBN. Paul has informed the group of the vote
confirming to ALL former owners that they approved the sale to KWARC
with 100% in favour. Paul is publishing a background of the repeater in
this months Kilowatter.
At the last monthly meeting I queried the club members present on several ideas related to "increasing " the club
finances. The general consensus was that we need not do anything at present. It was felt we will end up alright, what with memberships coming due, and the fleamarket revenue, and we have still have a $1000 GIC.
On behalf of the KWARC EXECUTIVE may I extend to you and yours a hope for the best of the holiday season. You are all invited to bring your primary other to the December
meeting. (see meeting notice, and please bring a treat!). Don't forget to pick up your holiday dinner tickets from Tedd Doda.
Because of the extended time for the speaker (1 1/2hrs) and the ladies and primary others invited, we will NOT have a business meeting in December . The business meeting will be postponed until the January meeting. There will be a social after the speaker.
Lang may your lumb reek!!! Solonge y var!!!
Sincerely, Bob
McKie VA3MCK President
