| I'm sitting here listening to the NASA link, courtesy of the
downlink by Terry Taylor, ve3nej, on both ve3rck, 146.865 and on simplex
147.510, our new repeater, just set up by Ben, va3bny, and Ted, ve3tjd.
Those who have been on VE3RCK will be aware that the new simplex frequency
replaced RCK for the NASA link on 147.510. This is being done so
that the speed dial use on ve3rck will be clear of interference. The Canwarn page on the KWARC Website lists the Canwarn callout members and activities. There is also a link to The ARES page, and a list of ARES callouts. You all may be interested in our Canwarn Coordinator's own web page, go to: http://www.geocities.com/va3tvs/stormchasing.html We will be having simulations on Canwarn, impromptu, and ARES at the Field Day site. Interested hams contact Robert Gissing,ve3zlv,for ARES go to: gissing@hotmail.com and Ron Gravelle,va3tvs,for Canwarn, go to: va3tvs@rac.ca Don't forget Field Day last Saturday in June. Contact Fred Louwe, ve3oqb at: ve3oqb@rac.ca , to indicate your choice of frequencies. It will be held at Doon Heritage Crossroads again this year. Toilets are nearby, water is available and meals will be served to participants as usual. If we are lucky again this year Hubert Stumpf, va3biq, may show up with his wife and her inimitable chilli and strawberry tarts. Lets have a turnout of club members to spell the group off and to act as guides to the public!!! The next meeting will be a presentation again by our agent from Petersburg Paul, ve3sy on the new IRLP set-up on the ve3rbn 440M repeater. Come out and learn how you can talk around the world on the new link. The classes for the Basic and Advanced are proceeding and they shall soon have their exams. Thanks to Ron, ve3dbd, and Gord, ve3eos. If you would like to present a program next year, or know of someone who would make a good presentation contact our new Program Director, Bill Graham, ve3etk, wrgraham@sympatico.ca. Bill has also been appointed our new club examiner, replacing Eric Enns who wished to retire after many years of faithful service. Our Tech Director, Ben, va3bny, reports all systems go. See you at the meeting. Sincerely, Bob McKie VA3MCK President We are sorry, but the page you requested does not exist, please contact the author of the site giving you this problem. |
