Radiocommunication Act Following an investigation by Industry Canada, Burnaby Radio Communications Ltd. pleaded guilty before the Court in Burnaby on February 7th, 2001, to an infraction under the provisions of section 10(1)(d) of the Radiocommunication Act. This infraction involved the modification and programming of amateur radio apparatus to operate outside the authorized frequency limits allocated to this type of equipment. The court levied a $500 fine against Burnaby Radio Communications Ltd. The potential for harmful interference caused by the operation of radio equipment on frequencies other that those authorized by Industry Canada is a serious concern. Any contravention of the provisions of the Radiocommunication Act or its regulations constitutes an offence and is subject to legal sanctions provided by the Act. For more information contact:
