Father of the GLB Channelizer W2EUP "SK"

Gil Boelke, W2EUP
April 25, 2001

On Wednesday April 25, 2001 the VHF UHF amateur world was saddened to learn of the sudden death of one of BARRA's (Buffalo Amateur Radio Repeater Association) founders and a fixture in the Western New York amateur radio community, Gil Boelke, W2EUP.

Gil was laid to rest Saturday, April 28th, 2001 and will be greatly missed by his family, BARRA, and the amateur community.

Gil was the founder of GLB Electronics Inc. which has been a leader in Radio Frequency technology since its inception in 1972. Many of us will remember the  "GLB Channelizer" which was the first add-on frequency synthesizer for a crystal controlled radio followed by the introduction of GLB's first synthesized Transceiver in 1975.

Do you have any recollections of Gil?  Drop us a line. webmaster@kwarc.org
