Historically, in times of national or international distress, amateur radio has played a large role in emergency communications. KWARC is in a good position to continue with this tradition. However, for as area as large as Waterloo Region the task can take a lot of people. To put KWARC and its emergency team in a better position a larger club membership would be very useful. You, as a member, probably know other hams in the region who were members and dropped out for one reason or another, reasons that may no longer be valid. Tell them about all the great things KWARC is now doing – like the improved repeater systems, the IRLP system, the great presentations at each meeting, for example. Get them to come out to a meeting again. Let’s bolster our membership, and give them a boost at the same time. This goes for any ham or potential ham who has never been a member as well. As a member who knows all the great benefits of the club, you are our best recruiters! We’ll all win with a little help on your part, and have an even stronger club too. 73 Bill VE3ETK |
