The President's Report

Greetings, to all.

It is Christmas time, and again this year at the clubs monthly meeting, we will be having our annual Christmas meeting.  As is the annual custom, everyone brings treats, whether it's freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, or for those in a hurry, a box of "Tim bits".

This year we will start something new for this annual meeting, a food drive, for the local food bank, so everyone is asked to bring a non perishable item.

And as tradition goes, there will be no business meeting,. If we are lucky we may be able to entice someone to come up to the piano and entertain us. Last year, the very talented Gerry King VE3GK put on a fine performance, enjoyed by all, thanks again Gerry.  Please bring your spouse, friends etc to meet the members.

Don't forget the annual Christmas luncheon at the Transylvania Club. on Friday December 21 Please see Ben Sasiela VA3BNYor Tedd Doda VE3SED at Laser Audio for tickets.

At this time I would like to say Merry Christmas and Happy New year to all, especially the shut ins who may be reading this tabloid, and are unable to attend the meeting, all of us at the club are wishing you well.

On the home front, my 11 element beam is up, thanks to Ben, our expert antenna technician. 2 meter sideband is very quiet except for a few contacts made during the meteor shower last week.

At this time I would like to extend an invitation to our neighbouring clubs to come out and have a chin wag with our members.
