The NNDXG Cuban DX-pedition '98
…… Local DX’ers head for C08 land

The No-Name DX Group will once again be active in the City of Santiago de Cuba, Cuba in late February and early March of 1998. Founded in 1995 by Don VE3ESE, with the assistance of Gord VE3NQK and Greg VE3NXB, the NNDXA group is growing with chapters in Cape Breton and Cuba. Membership only requires a fondness of DX-ing, contesting and having fun; with the hope of meeting like minded people in new locals.

VE3ESE,NQK, and NXB, are going to Cuba for the 1998 ARRL DX contest, on March 7and 8. They will be operating with Edil CO8KL, Victor CO8HF and other members of the University of Oriente club station in Santiago de Cuba. the photo was from last years contest Don and Greg will participate in the 160 meter contest a week earlier, well hidden high in the Sierra Maestra mountains. Listen for T48RAC and possibly T48C if Don is able to obtain approval in time. The CO8 amateurs are enthusiastic and like to involve others in their activities.

The No-Name DX Group started as a fun group . All of the members including Garry VE3XN have operated in foreign countries. This opportunity is a challenge to operate a contest, together in a new country. You can't beat a Cuban ham radio adventure in the doldrums of a Canadian winter. Plans are well under way. As time goes on more details will be forthcoming.
