Hammond Museum of Radio Tour
by Paul Cassel VE3SY, Editor

Approximately 25 KWARC members and spouses enjoyed a wonderful tour of the Hammond Museum of Radio on Sunday November 30th. All of us have who had the tour before agreed that no two tours are identical with major new additions being added as well as Fred’s ability to provide new history on existing exhibits.

One of the changes you will find are descriptive cards atop each piece of equipment that provides the history, specifications, price when new and current values.

It is quite interesting looking at many pieces of equipment that now have values well in excess of prices when new.

The Museum features an extensive collections of Halicrafter and Collins equipment all in operating condition. As with every tour the highlight is always the live demonstration of the ¼ kilowatt spark transmitter. Bring your ear plugs.

Everyone thanked Fred for the wonderful tour and wished him a Happy 85th Birthday
