Noel Eaton Memorial Station
The official opening and special celebration of the new Noel Eaton Memorial Station, VE3CJ will held in Burlington on Feb. 21,1998 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Legion Rd. Noel VE3CJ who was known and respected world wide, passed away in Sept’96 leaving his entire station to the Burlington Club. Noel was also a Charter Member and Past-President of QCWA Chapter 73.

The day begins with a Fleamarket from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and concludes with the banquet beginning at 7:00 pm. The banquet is shaping up to be the highlight of the day with representatives from IARU,RAC, ARRL,QCWA as well as the Jordanian Ambassador to Canada attending. Banquet tickets must be purchased in advance. For tickets send $25.00 per ticket to :

QCWA QSO Party
QCWA cordially invites all Amateurs world wide to participate in the 1998 QSO parties. Two parties will be held in 1998.The first one on March 14,1998 at 1900 hrs UTC and the second one on Sept. 19,1998 at 1800 hrs UTC. Each contest will run for a period of 24 hours. Both CW and phone may be used. Non-members simply reply giving State, Province or Country. For more details see page 57 of The Journal-Winter 1997.

QCWA Memorial Scholarship
See last month’s Kilowatter for details on applying for a scholarship provided by The QCWA Memorial Scholarship Fund. Applications must be received by the Committee between February 1st and April 30th.

Mark your calendar now for the next QCWA Luncheon to be held on May 2,1998 at The Plainsman Restaurant. Meeting notices and forms will be mailed in March ’98

The next meeting will be on May 2,1998.
