Noel Eaton Memorial Station The official opening and special celebration of the new Noel Eaton Memorial Station, VE3CJ will held in Burlington on Feb. 21,1998 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Legion Rd. Noel VE3CJ who was known and respected world wide, passed away in Sept’96 leaving his entire station to the Burlington Club. Noel was also a Charter Member and Past-President of QCWA Chapter 73. The day begins with a Fleamarket from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and concludes with the banquet beginning at 7:00 pm. The banquet is shaping up to be the highlight of the day with representatives from IARU,RAC, ARRL,QCWA as well as the Jordanian Ambassador to Canada attending. Banquet tickets must be purchased in advance. Two parties will be held in 1998.The first one on March 14,1998 at 1900 hrs UTC and the second one on Sept. 19,1998 at 1800 hrs UTC. Each contest will run for a period of 24 hours. QCWA Memorial Scholarship See last month’s Kilowatter for details on applying for a scholarship provided by The QCWA Memorial Scholarship Fund.
