Everyone will recall the day last month when 6 tornadoes touched down in central Florida killing over 40 people.
With the large number of KW Snowbirds wintering in Florida, CKCO TV Action News visited the shack of Eric Enns VE3BB looking for a local angle. Eric was able to communicate with numerous Florida stations and was able to determine that the storms all passed a
few miles to the North East of where the local Hams were wintering.
Our hats off to Eric for flying the Amateur Radio flag which shows once again that when communications are difficult or impossible during an emergency, the media also rely on Ham radio.
