Update on Fred Hammond

Fred's sons Rob and Bill would like to thank their father's friends for respecting their earlier request for no visitors and are pleased to announce that Fred is now receiving his friends.

Those planing to visit Fred should be sure to identify themselves when they arrive -- don't ask him to guess your name and be ready for one of those famous HC hand shakes... they are still as strong as ever. Since Ham Radio has been much of Fred's life, visits from fellow Radio Amateurs will be an important part of his recovery.

As most people are aware, our dear friend Fred Hammond VE3HC, suffered a severe stroke on Sunday June 21st, 1998 at his home in Guelph.

He was immediately transferred to the ICU at Hamilton General where he was attended to by a top neuro surgeon.

While Fred has gone through several critical stages, recent signs are encouraging and he has been moved to the St. Joseph's Hospital in Guelph.
