IGS

There are a few technical issues we at IGS want to make everyone aware of that will improve service and increase the value of the various services IGS provides.

Guelph 56k Service
IGS is pleased to announce that 56k (V.90 / K56Flex) service will be introduced on the Guelph lines in the near future. A date will be supplied here as soon as we receive installation dates from Bell Canada within the next few weeks.

Multi-Homing
Full multi-homing network access is coming to IGS in the coming months. What this means is that IGS will have at least three high speed backbone connections to the Internet which can back each other up in the event a problem beyond our control. With the Internet growing at the rapid rate it is, major data carriers in North America are required to increase capacity on a regular basis, and during, and just before these upgrades, performance tends to suffer to some extent. By having multiple connections and fully dynamic routing, IGS will be able to offer connectivity unmatched by other companies in the market. Not only will this benefit the average dial-up user, but it will greatly improve the accessibility and speed to all web sites hosted at IGS. This level of service has been made possible by IGS's size and National Provider status. As more information is available we will be sure to pass it along as we move into this mode of operation.
