To the delight of
some 66 club members, our own member, Gary Kornstein VE3JGK presented a demonstration on Ultra
sound medical scanning. Gary's presentation included a live display of the equipment that
is used, as well as some video footage's of types of scanning, and practical uses. Gary
has his own business traveling through out Ontario providing this service to areas of
need, with portable equipment contained in the back of his van. Combined with a video
projector displaying the scanning screen, KWARC members were able to see the image that
ultra sound creates, and how the technology assists the medical profession. Gary went on
to explain the advancements of this method of analysis from its earlier days, to today's
color enhancements of images within our body.
Ultra Sound has become a
very important medical tool especially during pregnancies in analyzing the growth of a
baby.
Our sincere thanks go out
to Gary VE3JGK, for bring in this equipment and for providing us with a delightful
presentation.
