At last months Executive Meeting it was decided that KWARC should make a better effort at providing Elmer Service to our members who may require technical assistance. Your KWARC Executive realizes that with the new class of Amateur Radio operators the club has a large number of newer hams who are interested in building projects but hesitate due to possible limited knowledge. As well, many members desire to upgrade their licence to attain HF phone privileges. KWARC members have a wealth of information however we need to provide a list of these members who are willing to assist other hams or those interested in joining our hobby. If this sounds like a broken record (or a skipping CD) it is. When reading some early 1920 QST magazines at the Hammond Museum of Radio, an Editorial by Hiram Percy Maximum, W1AW, we find that the ARRL saw the same problem 75 years ago as we recognize today. To make a start at some of the fields of expertise I feel we need, here goes .:
I am sure this list will grow as we receive input from the membership. As much as I hate to ask for volunteers (PLEASE) I would request that anyone who is willing to let us put their name beside one or more of the above categories, please contact me or one of your Executive members. If we want our hobby to continue as we know it today, helping and upgrading our members as we did in earlier years is critical to our survival. I look forward to meeting everyone at the meeting Monday night 73 de Paul Cassel
