VE3KSR ANTENNA UPDATE
For some time now, VE3KSR has been operating on an antenna about half way up the tower at Baden since the original top antenna was defective. To replace the defective antenna would cost the club a lot of money. Through the efforts of Terry Taylor, VE3NEJ, (one of our tech members) an "almost new 210 C 4 antenna was donated as well as several hundred feet of "almost new" 7/8" Heliax cable!

This antenna will be installed at the top of the tower in the next month or so depending on weather and we have hired a "Commercial Rigger" to do the work on his day off at a low rate of pay.

When this work is done, VE3KSR should be back to it's original level of performance. The original antenna and coax (which is 30 years old) will be removed from the tower.

VE3IXY UPDATE

The Kitchener Waterloo Amateur Radio Club 220 repeater VE3IXY is back on the air as of Dec 28 1998.

The antenna has been installed in a temporary position on the new tower at approx the same height as the old location so coverage should be about the same with perhaps some slight degradation to the south. This may be due to some shielding effect of the tower structure. Its planned that the antenna will eventually be mounted some 120 ft at the top of the tower with new feed line.

Please report any difficulties or signal changes to VA3BNY
