PL Tone On KSR Report

I was asked to conduct a study on a proposal to add PL tone to the input of the clubs repeater VE3KSR. After considerable evaluation and responses from our members, we received some 38 replies and opinions which were used to make a final decision and recommendation to the Executive committee of our club.

There were 7 replies of support for:
"I favour having PL tone added to KSR".

There were 31 replies indicating:
"I am not in favour of adding PL tone to KSR"

This produced a ratio of approx. 5 to 1 against adding PL tone to the input of KSR, therefore, based on the members input, it has been indicated to the executive committee by myself, that VE3KSR remain as a OPEN repeater NOT requiring PL tone for access. This decision was accepted by your Exec. Committee. Technical Chairman John Riddell was still encouraged to proceed with examining other options that may not have as much of an impact on members and itinerate mobiles.
