As many of you know I accepted, albeit with reluctance, a second term as your President and a third term as your Bulletin Editor. I have informed the Board of Directors that I will not let my name stand for another term as President and that I will be unable to continue with editing and publishing the printed version of the Kilowatter newsletter. I feel very satisfied that I have met all of my goals of turning the club and the Kilowatter newsletter around. Over the past two years KWARC has been brought from the brink of insolvency to one of the best financial picture we have enjoyed for years. Membership is now at an all time high and we have a newsletter template format that will be very easy for someone else to take over. After taking early retirement in 1996 I felt I had lots of time to give back to our hobby and so I took on the task of editing the Kilowatter and creating a web presence for KWARC. In 1997 I also let my name stand for President which has turned out to be a two year stint and three years as the Editors job. During the past three years I have done some casual consulting work in the Wireless industry. Last December I took on what has become a full time project working with a mobile communications business in Woodstock. This unfortunately has left little time for my hobby let alone the two hats that I currently wear. I have previously held both positions in the early 1980s with a two year stint as President and another two years as Kilowatter Editor so its time for someone else to pay their dues. We
Need You! Part of Mondays meeting will be our annual nomination meeting so please consider giving some of your time back to this great hobby of ours. It is now time for others to take over the leadership of KWARC and the task of editing the Kilowatter newsletter. I look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
