Fox Hunt
by the Guelph ARC

So you missed out the first time???

Tough!

(Lotsa sympathy, eh?)

But you’ve got another chance!

When? Sunday,September12th
Registration: 9:00 a.m. Hunt starts at 10:00 a.m.
Who? For GARC members and other ‘hams’ in teams of 2 or more per vehicle.

(You’ll need "wheels" for this one!). Non-hams can participate as long as they are with a licenced amateur.

What? Find a VHF transmitter that sends a short signal every 10 or so minutes. Time is one factor. Distance travelled is another. Equipment is a third.
Where? The "fox" will be somewhere in or around Guelph (normal area covered by 2-metre simplex from centretown).
How? Hunt is done using mobile/handie 2-metre receiving equipment. (No assistance from base stations allowed.)

Vehicle (car, truck, motorcycle, whatever) needed, and expect some footwork.

Teams must consist of at least two persons. Hunt is directed by the Hunt Marshall. Hunt Marshall provides clues to assist hunters.

How much?

(Fee not finalized at this time. No more than a few bucks a head. Cheap.)

What else? A Guelph area map + a compass + a directional antenna + pen/notepad

(These items are not essential but will be very very useful.)

Questions? Pierre VA3JPL   Wally VA3KWI *** Paul VE3EWN *** Barry VE3SLD *** on repeaters VE3ZMG or VE3SLD.
