We are currently in the process of coming up with this year's project for the group.  Last year's project, a portable 2 metre Y2K ready antenna, was a popular success. Maybe you have an idea and were waiting for a chance to propose it to an interested group?  Try us.

Dr. Gord reported that his "committee" has preparations for the Los Vegas year 2000 Packet Symposium well in hand.  His theory on laser spectrum cooling technology is meeting challenges, but he says that results should be forth coming before the conference date.  (See Vol 52 Issue 8 of Kilowatter for more background)

I had the opportunity last week to drop in on the weekly Wednesday Morning (retired Hams ) Coffee Hour.  The group, over 20 strong, now meets at Luther Village-on-the-Park at 9 A.M. on the aformentioned day.  The dining room provides a very friendly atmosphere.  Coffee and conversations flow freely.

I was told that there is no age barrier to membership.  If you can break away from work for an hour, drop in.
