ve3lgn.jpg (3843 bytes)The November meeting was ushered in with a raging blizzard.  Rather eerie to see snow blowing horizontally out of the black void and across the beam of the street lights! Most of our hardy group braved the chill to enjoy the evening.

Dave VA3DGS reported on the state of the WWPUG -ve3dgs2.jpg (32308 bytes) KWARC weather Station.  It is being upgraded with Wind Chill factor data (for those wanting to know the apparent temperature on exposed skin).   The total system should be on line again as of this reading. Available via APRS or on our excellent web site  The inset picture is of Dave VA3DGS at the APRS node site atop the Baden Hill.  Click here for the full story.

Norm VE3DEQ and Larry VE3LGN from the group represented the K-W Amateur radio club at the Kitchener Cenotaph for the annual Remembrance day program.  They were instrumental in relaying the signal for the fusillade which initiates and terminates the 2 minutes  pause of remembrance.   A crisp but clear day, with a significant turnout.

Our next meeting will be held in January at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre.  There will be no December nor February meeting.  Note this on your calendar.  We appreciate the contribution of Zehr's tapes.  They can be dropped off at the Monthly KWARC meeting or by contacting Larry VE3LGN.

Our Technical expert Gord VE3EOS will be available for anyone having questions or problems they wishes to explore.

A reminder that the Amateur radio course for prospective hams will begin in February.  2 metre Packet with links to HF and world wide connections requires only the Basic certificate.  Do you know anyone that you might interest in pursuing Amateur radio?
